  Business English

English is the global language of business. But to communicate effectively in English you need more than just vocabulary and grammar. You need to know how to use English in the right way for every business setting.

And language never stands alone. A great communicator is sensitive to their audience and can adapt their communication style to suit the situation.

At Branch Out, you’ll find our English courses different from the norm.

The Branch Out process
At Branch Out we pride ourselves on delivering courses that are tailor-made to specific clients requirements.

Once you have booked a course, Branch Out will take care of all the logistic and organisational tasks. This saves your HR department valuable working time.

What happens before a workshop?
First of all, we invite participants to compete a Branch Out on-line structure test to assess their passive knowledge of English grammar and vocabulary. We then send out detailed questionnaires to establish the participants’ professional activities and skills requirements. Next, tailored assessments are carried out to determine the participants’ level of language competence. For participant in the Writing Skills workshop, we will request examples of their written work (emails, reports, brochures etc.).  We may also suggest that one of our trainers attend an actual meeting or presentation in order to analyse the participants’ skills and style. Based on these results, we then design specific coursework for the client organisation. Prior to any Branch Out workshop, all participants will receive a pre-workshop task which starts the learning process before the actual workshop takes place.

What happens after a workshop?
After the workshop, participants will be sent an individual feedback sheet and Personalised Action Plan. By doing this, we continue the learning process after the official end of the workshop and, most importantly, give participants practical advice on how to address their particular weaknesses.
Furthermore, participants in the Writing Skills and/or Presentation Skills workshops can make use of our unique Check-My-Text Extra service (For full details see the section Check-My-Text)

Workshops
Workshops designed with busy people in mind

Branch Out understands the time constraints made on busy people who don’t have the time to commit to a lengthy English course spun out over several months.

That’s why Branch Out delivers English training as Workshops which focus on a specific business skill.

Workshops
Workshops are generally two or three consecutive days, followed up by a review session approximately four to six weeks later. Course participants will receive in-depth training on one particular skill area. For example, Negotiating in English. Naturally, all workshops vary depending on your company’s requirements and we would be delighted to advise you on the most suitable format for your team.

Mini-workshops
Our mini-workshops normally consist of two four-hour sessions with a week in between the sessions. These mini-workshops are especially designed for people who do not require an in-depth knowledge or extensive training in one particular skill area, but instead wish to work on a wide range of business topics. For example, you might select Meetings, Presentations & Networking as a package. Together with your Branch Out adviser you can design an exciting programme of min-workshops that’s just right for your organisation.

How many participants?
Optimum workshop size ranges from six to twelve. With groups of over eight, Branch Out provides two trainers so as to focus on the individual’s needs and particular problem areas.
